We are recruiting for a Commissioning Specialist on behalf of a highly regarded, multi-disciplined architecture and engineering firm based in Austin, TX. This role is perfect for someone with a strong background in commissioning and a passion for ensuring that the built environment matches the design concept.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Collaborate with architectural and engineering team members to coordinate responsibilities including systems testing, design, and construction document management for various scale projects.
  • Provide comprehensive services from start to finish on multiple educational and healthcare projects.
  • Assist the owner in the development of the Owner's Project Requirements (OPR).
  • Review Basis of Design (BOD) documents to ensure adherence to the OPR.
  • Develop commissioning specifications and review design documents.
  • Handle submittals and perform progress site visits.
  • Attend commissioning meetings and develop construction pre-functional/startup checklists.
  • Conduct system functional testing, including seasonal testing.
  • Maintain an issues log and review Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) reports.
  • Develop systems manuals and prepare final commissioning reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of industry experience in a related field.
  • Strong focus on all aspects of the systems being tested to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes and principles.
  • Experience with commissioning software such as CxAlloy or Facility Grid.
  • EIT, PE, or commissioning certification is preferred.
  • Experience in controls or TAB is advantageous.
  • HVAC design experience is also preferred.
