I am working with a respected Texas-based architecture firm specializing in public safety and civic design. My client is currently seeking a skilled Interior Designer to join their dynamic team in Houston. This role offers the chance to contribute to meaningful, purpose-driven projects, designing interior environments for fire stations, EMS facilities, and other municipal buildings.
Collaborative Environment
You’ll collaborate with architects, engineers, and municipal stakeholders to deliver interiors that are functional, resilient, and responsive to the needs of first responders and the communities they serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and lead the development of interior design concepts from programming through construction.
- Select and specify finishes, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) suited to civic and public safety use.
- Produce finish palettes, mood boards, and presentation materials.
- Develop construction documentation and detailing using Revit.
- Coordinate closely with architectural teams, consultants, and vendors to integrate interiors with base building design.
- Participate in client presentations and project meetings.
- Support construction administration tasks such as submittal review and site visits.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in commercial, civic, or institutional interiors.
- Strong proficiency in Revit; knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape, or related tools is a plus.
- Solid understanding of finish materials, specifications, and code compliance (including ADA and IBC).
- NCIDQ certification (or in progress) preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, and team collaboration skills.
